The Nike ProSkills Girls 17U Black team, led by Coach Brandon Costantini, is having a great start to the season. This is Coach Brandon’s third year with the program, and he is currently coaching two talented teams – the 17U Black and 17U Red squads.

This past weekend, the 17U Black team shined, going 3-1 and winning the championship. The engine behind their success was standout player Ava Inesta-Rodriguez. Despite her smaller stature, Ava proved that size doesn’t matter when you have the skills to dominate. Her ball handling and passing ability were on full display, as she consistently split double teams and found the open teammate. Ava’s defensive intensity also made it difficult for opponents to score.

In the championship game, Oleyvia Ramos stepped up and earned Player of the Game honors. Oleyvia led the team in scoring with 10 points and used her length on defense to disrupt the Austin Phoenix’s offense. Her ability to get to the basket and knock down outside shots helped stretch the floor and create opportunities for her teammates.

Seaniya Boykin (6 points) and Dori Gilbert (5 points) also contributed to the team’s success in the championship game. Their well-rounded performances showcased the depth and talent of the 17U Black squad.
The Nike ProSkills program is thrilled with the team’s performance and is excited to see what they can accomplish in their next tournament. On April 18-19, the 17U Black team will head to Oklahoma for the Prep Girls Hoops event, where they will look to continue their winning ways.

Coach Brandon Costantini has built a strong program at Nike ProSkills, and the 17U Black team’s recent championship victory is a testament to the hard work and dedication of both the players and the coaching staff. Fans and supporters can’t wait to see what this talented group of young athletes will achieve next.
