In a thrilling matchup on Wednesday, the Palo Alto men’s basketball team emerged victorious over the Saint Phillips squad with a final score of 94-73. The Palo Alto team came out firing on all cylinders, showcasing their exceptional teamwork and sharpshooting abilities.
From the opening tip, Palo Alto’s offense was in full force, with the players moving the ball with precision and making their shots count. The team’s backcourt duo of Julian Jenkins and Jaxon Huff led the charge, with Jenkins scoring an impressive 24 points while shooting an efficient 67% from the field and dishing out 3 assists. Huff, on the other hand, knocked down 4 out of 6 attempts from the three-point line, finishing the game with 18 points.
The Palo Alto team also received valuable contributions from their frontcourt players, Anthony Rucker and Manuel Renato-Castro , who combined for 16 points in the paint, helping to secure the win.
In the post-game interview, Coach Green expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, but also emphasized the need for improvement in certain areas. “We did not lock in, but we did win by 20 points,” he stated. “We have to be better defensively and just locked in! We got outscored in the second half after having a 30-point lead. Next practice will be working on being a unit, locking in together as a unit and playing as one!”
