Introducing Randall Green: The New Head Coach Bringing a Winning Mindset to Palo Alto College

Palo Alto College, part of the San Antonio Colleges network, is excited to welcome Randall Green as the new head coach of their men’s basketball team, the Palominos. Coach Green brings an impressive background to the role, having served 24 years in the military before retiring in Florida.

Prior to making the move to San Antonio, Coach Green worked at IMG Academy in Athletic and Personal Development, where he worked closely with top athletes, helping them optimize their performance. His experience working with elite-level players will be a valuable asset as he takes the reins of the Palominos.

In addition to his work at IMG, Coach Green has coached with two prominent AAU organizations in San Antonio – All Day Elite and Nike ProSkills. During his time with these programs, he assisted in helping over 10 players secure opportunities to play basketball at the next level.

Now, Coach Green is ready to bring his winning mindset to Palo Alto College. His current roster features 15 players, all of whom are seeking to showcase their skills and earn the chance to continue their athletic careers at a four-year university.

“This is just the first stop on their journey to fulfilling their basketball dreams,” said Coach Green. “My goal is to help these young men develop both on and off the court, preparing them to excel at the next level.”

The Palo Alto College men’s basketball program is also excited to welcome Neftali “Nef” Zuniga to the coaching staff this season. Coach Nef brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team, having played and coached basketball at various levels over the past two decades.

Nef grew up in San Juan, Texas and was a standout high school athlete. After graduating, he earned a spot as a walk-on player at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio in 2002. Nef used this experience to begin his coaching career, which has spanned nearly 20 years.

In 2005, Nef started working with youth basketball players in the San Antonio area, sharing his passion for the game and helping young athletes develop their skills. Over the years, he has continued to hone his coaching abilities, and is currently working with the Nike ProSkills program in San Antonio.

The Palominos will open their season on September 25th, taking on St. Phillips College. Coach Green and his team are eager to get the season underway and demonstrate the hard work they’ve put in during the offseason.

With Coach Green’s extensive experience, dedication to player development, and proven track record of helping athletes reach their full potential, the future looks bright for Palo Alto College basketball. The Palominos are poised to make a statement this season, and Coach Green is the perfect leader to guide them on their journey.
