New Braunfels is buzzing with excitement today as local football standout, Lance Beeghley, inked his National Letter of Intent to play for the SMU Mustangs! The talented wide receiver chose SMU over New Mexico State, Texas State, Columbia, Yale, Tulane, Appalachian and UTSA are a few and becomes the latest addition to their promising 2024 recruiting class.
Lance’s journey to this pivotal moment has been nothing short of impressive. Throughout his high school career at New Braunfels, he had 2490 yds; 37 TDs; 142 Rec. His electrifying plays and dedication on the field earned him recognition as one of the best receivers in Region 4, District 27 6A.
But Lance’s potential extends beyond the gridiron. This well-roundedness undoubtedly played a role in attracting the attention of top college programs.
When asked about his decision to join the Mustangs, Lance stated, “He thinks he is a great fit and they showed him so much love when he went on a visit”. His enthusiasm is shared by the entire New Braunfels community, who are eager to see him shine at the collegiate level.
