The Johnson Jaguars delivered a masterclass in high school football Friday night, dismantling the Churchill Chargers 48-3 in a performance that left no room for doubt. With the win, Johnson clinched their second consecutive District 27-6A title and moved one step closer to a perfect season.
First Half: Defensive Fury, Offensive Firepower
From the first snap, Johnson’s defense came out swinging. The front seven swarmed the pocket, forcing Churchill’s quarterback into scramble mode and shutting down any semblance of offensive rhythm. The Chargers struggled to move the chains as the Jaguars applied relentless pressure.
Meanwhile, Johnson’s offense wasted no time lighting up the scoreboard. Running back Rayshun Hurt bulldozed through defenders with punishing runs, while quarterback Elvis Estrada orchestrated a precise aerial attack. Estrada connected with wideouts Bryson Thompson and Braeyln Allen for explosive gains, helping the Jaguars build a commanding 28-3 lead by halftime.

Second Half: No Mercy, No Let-Up
The Jaguars didn’t take their foot off the gas. They opened the third quarter with a lightning-fast drive capped by a Thompson touchdown, stretching the lead to 35-3. Hurt added another score late in the third, and Thompson sealed the night with his third touchdown, bringing the final tally to 48-3.
Johnson’s offense showcased its versatility with a mix of quick-strike drives and clock-chewing possessions. The balance kept Churchill off rhythm and out of contention, while the defense continued to dominate.

Back-to-Back Champs, Eyes on the Prize
With the win, Johnson improved to 9-0 and secured the District 27-6A title for the second straight year. One more victory—next week against Clark—would mark back-to-back undefeated district campaigns and set the stage for a deep playoff run.
The Jaguars are peaking at the perfect time. If Friday’s performance is any indication, they’re not just chasing wins—they’re building a legacy.
