The Palo Alto Palominos men’s basketball team has wrapped up their regular season in spectacular fashion, rolling into the playoffs with an outstanding 11-2 conference record. Their final game, played on March 26, 2025, was a resounding 106-34 victory over Trinity University Community. This commanding win not only showcased their offensive firepower but also solidified their position as a playoff contender to watch.

Adding excitement to the team’s bench were two promising future recruits, Oscar Torres and Isaiah Kennedy, who have already been integrating into the Palominos’ system. Both players participated in team workouts leading up to the game and proved they could thrive in Palo Alto’s offense and style of play. These two talents, along with other recruits attending workouts, represent the program’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the roster for the upcoming season.
Oscar Torres, a standout from Cole High School, is set to graduate this summer. As a key player for the Cole Cougars, Torres helped lead his team to the state tournament last winter, where they lost in the UIL state semi-finals to Kountze High School. With his experience on the big stage, Torres brings valuable composure and leadership to high-pressure moments.

Isaiah Kennedy, a graduate of Wagner High School, also boasts a winning pedigree. Kennedy was part of the Wagner Thunderbirds team that shared the state championship title with Mansfield Timberview during the COVID-affected season in 2020. His experience with elite coaching and championship-level competition makes him a perfect fit for Palo Alto’s ambitious program.

Coach Randall Green couldn’t be more thrilled about these recruits and the season his team has had. Under his leadership, the Palominos finished first in their conference with an impressive overall record of 23-11. With a well-earned first-round bye, Coach Green and his staff are prepared to face any challenge the playoffs may bring. This season has been a transformative one for the program, as Coach Green’s vision and efforts have elevated the team’s culture and raised the bar within the local community.
The Palo Alto Palominos are poised for a thrilling playoff run. With a winning record, a dedicated coaching staff, and promising talent on the horizon, the future looks bright for this basketball powerhouse.
