In a display of sheer dominance, the Palo Alto Palaminos basketball team secured their fifth consecutive conference win, defeating the UIW Men’s Club by a resounding score of 96-29. The Palaminos showcased their offensive prowess and defensive tenacity, leaving no doubt about their superiority on the court.
Leading the way for the Palaminos was Daylon Gonzalez, who poured in 19 points while shooting an impressive 67% from the field and 50% from downtown. Gonzalez’s ability to defend and drive to the basket with ease highlighted the invaluable contribution of the Palaminos’ guard play.
Complementing Gonzalez’s performance was Renee Perez, who added 17 points to the Palaminos’ tally, shooting a remarkable 89% from the field. The Palaminos came out of the gates on fire, taking an early lead and never relinquishing it, leaving their opponents in the dust.
“It’s a great feeling to get today’s win and be 5-0,” said Palaminos head coach, Coach Green. “However, it’s still too early to celebrate. We need to stay focused and keep working hard.”
Coach Green also expressed his satisfaction with the team’s ability to provide playing time for all his players, allowing them to contribute to the victory. “I loved the fact that all our guys had a chance to play and contribute to the win. That’s what makes this team special.”
With this dominant win, the Palaminos now turn their attention to their next challenge, a highly anticipated matchup against the talented Northeast Lakeview squad on October 30, 2024. The Palaminos will look to maintain their undefeated streak and further solidify their position as a force to be reckoned with in the conference.
