The Ball-Hard Invite Only event was a showcase of next-level talent, featuring a mix of 20 boys and girls primarily from Austin, with two standout players from San Antonio, Texas. The event kicked off with warmup drills, followed by intense 5v5 games where players had the chance to demonstrate their skills. A surprise guest, Kaden Grumbs, joined the event to workout, train, and even play with the participants. He also shared valuable insights about college life and what to look for in next-level play.
Here are the standout players who caught our eye and are definitely ones to watch for this upcoming high school basketball season:
Chidera Ukachukwu (Class of 2026, Prolific Prep)
Chidera is an athletic marvel who seems to defy gravity. With a keen nose for the ball, he excels in on-ball defense and has a high basketball IQ. His explosiveness in getting to the rim and his ability to play above the rim make him a formidable player!
Marcus Zellee (Class of 2026, Brentwood Christian)
Marcus is a selfless point guard who loves to get his teammates involved but can also score when needed. He works hard on both ends of the court, can score from all three levels, and plays above the rim. Was one of the best defenders that has a great work ethic!
Miles Hardaman (Class of 2027, Weiss High School)
Miles is a fearless floor general with a high basketball IQ. He shoots well and uses his size to his advantage, never backing down from a challenge, even against bigger guards. Demonstrated size does not matter when he is on the floor!
Joe Lewis Davis III (Class of 2027, Stony Point High School)
Joe is one of the quickest players on the court, with a lightning-fast first step. He can get to the rack with contact, shoots well from all three levels, and is an unselfish player who encourages his teammates. Knows the importance of Pace and staying calm in a stressful environment!
Jonathan Wenthe (Class of 2026, Round Rock High School)
Standing at 6’6″, Jonathan has a big frame and can shoot from deep with ease. His footwork allows him to move without the ball effectively, and he uses his size to his advantage with a high basketball IQ. Understands the importance of playing inside/out when he is the bigger player on the court!
Lamarious White (Class of 2025, Weiss High School)
Lamarious, with his 6’8″ frame, dominates inside and out. He plays above the rim, runs the floor effortlessly, and can guard all five positions, making him a versatile defender. He was looking to dominate when he steps on the floor!
Adonis Wright (Class of 2027, Stony Point)
Adonis is an athletic guard who fits in well with upperclassmen. He is quick, explosive on offense, strong on defense, and plays above the rim with a high basketball IQ. He is a player that you will find yourself watching on both ends of the court!
Gavin Glover (Class of 2026, Leander High School)
Gavin is a strong rebounding guard who mixes it up with the bigs inside. His strong defense and ability to mix it up down low make him a valuable player on both ends of the court. Does not take plays off!
Niko Martinez (Class of 2027, Southwest High School)
Niko is a point guard who shoots the ball exceptionally well. He prioritizes getting his teammates involved but is not afraid to take the shot when needed. His consistent shooting will keep him on the floor!
